Abstract:

An intriguing discussion in the second language (L2) writing scholarship has addressed writing from Source texts (STs) susceptible to accidental or intentional plagiarism. While the literature mainly focuses on L2 writers, the problem is also intractable for many native English writers. This paper reports a qualitative case study investigating how graduate students in an EFL context attain awareness and understanding of Source text use (STU), their specific problems, and their strategies in citing STs. A cohort of sixteen Iranian second-semester MA students of Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) participated in this study. They were interviewed in-depth about STs and their STU. Thematic analysis revealed that writing software packages, writing courses and instructors, and self-studies variously contributed to their learning of using and citing the STs. The results also suggested that the participants used various strategies, including using STs to learn, using direct quotations, and using STs without citation to cope with the STs and STU problems. “Paraphrasing” and “direct quotation” were also found as the two preferences with different justifications in citing an ST. The paper discusses the findings and the implications for second language academic literacy development and Source-based writing instruction.

Abstract:

ABSTRACT Over the past 50 years since the first research in the field of urban development implementation plans, there has been a noticeable absence of a comprehensive literature review on this topic in the global arena. This article provides a textual analysis related to the subject of urban development implementation plans, to identify important and recurring themes alongside analyzing the relationships between authors, journals, and countries in this field. Along with the bibliographic analysis, documents related to the field of urban development implementation plans were reviewed to identify influential indicators in their implementation. To this end, 456 scientific articles were extracted from the Scopus scientific database as of October 28th, 2022, and analyzed using scientometric software. These analyses include examining author keywords, country co-authorships, journal bibliographic coupling, and author co-citations. In this study, 74 final indicators were identified as the most recurrent indicators in this field. The bibliographic analysis also produced several noteworthy results. The United States is the most active country in this field, with a link strength of 40 and 176 articles. Berke, P. is the most influential author in this field, with a link strength of 1623 and 99 citations. Among the journals examined, "Land Use Policy" has the highest bibliographic coupling strength of 84, and the "Journal of the American Planning Association" has the highest number of documents related to this field, with 22 documents; finally, among the identified. Extended Abstract Introduction The implementation of urban development projects has been a neglected topic in public policy research, despite its critical importance in ensuring the success of such projects. While there have been numerous studies on the factors that contribute to the success or failure of policy implementation, there has been a lack of systematic reviews on the subject of implementation as a whole. This study aims to address this gap in knowledge by providing a comprehensive overview of the implementation process of urban development projects. This study aims to address this gap in knowledge by providing a comprehensive overview of the implementation process of urban development projects. The study begins by collecting and categorizing existing research in the field, focusing on three main questions: -What are the key indicators for successful implementation? -What are urban journals and articles' current trends and performance? -How do countries and researchers collaborate in this area? The study also examines the relationships between authors, publishers, and different types of documents through bibliographic analysis. Ultimately, this study highlights the need for further research and a more structured approach to understanding the implementation process of urban development projects.   Methodology This study examined the literature related to implementation and evaluation plans in urban and land use planning. The authors used the Scopus database to extract and collect data, focusing on combining the keywords "implementation-plan" and "evaluation-plan" in the keywords, abstracts, and titles. Initially, 621 studies were extracted, but 456 articles were selected as the final database after filtering out non-article documents. The authors observed a general upward trend for studies from 1968 to 2022, with a significant increase in the slope of the trend from 2007. However, a slight decrease in studies was observed in 2021 and 2022, possibly due to the global pandemic and the emergence of new related topics. The authors used a four-stage process to analyze the bibliographic subject of the study, including simultaneous occurrence analysis, co-authorship analysis, bibliographic coupling analysis, co-citation analysis, content analysis, and thematic analysis. The authors identified the selected articles' research objectives, methodologies, findings, and main themes and sub-themes. Overall, this study provides a comprehensive analysis of the literature on implementation and evaluation plans in urban and land use planning.   Results and discussion This research aims to comprehensively analyze the implementation and execution of urban development plans using bibliometrics and systematic analysis. The study considers evaluation as a crucial part of the implementation process and seeks to answer three fundamental questions. Firstly, it identifies effective indicators of implementation and execution globally. Secondly, it examines the trends and performances of new articles and urban journals. Thirdly, it investigates the pattern of cooperation among countries and researchers. The study identifies 74 general indicators that significantly impact the implementation process of urban plans. The results show that "performance evaluation," "effectiveness," "land use," "zonation," "participation," "program quality," and "implementation program" are critical indicators in this area. The study also highlights the importance of evaluation in the discussion of program implementation and its separability from the implementation process. Using the scientometric software VOSviewer, the study analyzed 68 keywords related to the bibliographic topic. "Program evaluation" obtained the first place, followed by "Program implementation" and "Program quality." The co-authorship analysis based on author items revealed that Berke, P. has the highest number of citations and link strength. Additionally, the study found that 72 countries have research in this field, with 22 countries having at least 5 citations that were clustered into 5 clusters by the software. The "land use policy" journal had the highest link strength, and the "Journal of the American planning association" had the highest number of documents related to this field. In conclusion, the study provides valuable insights for policymakers and researchers interested in urban development planning. It comprehensively examines the implementation and execution of urban development plans, identifies effective indicators, and investigates the pattern of cooperation among countries and researchers. The study highlights the importance of evaluation in the implementation process and its separability from the implementation process.   Conclusion The main goal of this research was to fill the gap in research on the implementation and execution of urban development projects in the field, as no systematic review of the topic has been conducted from a global perspective since the first research in this field about half a century ago. Only in some studies, such as those by Talen (1996), Oliveira & Pinho (2010), Rudolf & Grădinaru (2017), has the evaluation of implementation been systematically reviewed, or the systematic review of experiences in a specific urban area, such as the review of various experiences in the Beijing urban area (Chu, 2020). In this research, with the comprehensive approach that the evaluation of implementation is an integral part of the overall process of implementing and executing urban development projects, this process has been examined from the perspective of bibliometrics and systematic analysis of this field. The main difference of this research, which makes it completely new, is firstly having a comprehensive approach to the implementation field, where program evaluation is only an important part of its structure, and secondly, using the scientometric software VOSviewer for the first time in this field. In essence, the conclusive outcomes of this investigation were entirely novel and exhibited some partial congruences with antecedent studies in the domain of appraising and discerning indicators. Significantly, this research has conferred a systematic appraisal of the literature concerning the urban implementation and execution of projects, which is an unprecedented contribution. It should be acknowledged that this is an initial survey of data intended to offer a comprehensive outlook on this scholarly field, and thus it is subject to certain limitations, such as its confinement to the Scopus database. As such, it is recommended that future research endeavors encompass an analysis of additional databases and undertake comparative evaluations of the results. Background: The aim of this study is to explore the safety and diagnostic performance of dual-Source CT scan in comparison with single Source CT scan and conventional angiography in patients with coronary heart diseases.Materials and methods: A systematic review was performed using CRD standard methods. The Cochrane Library, MEDLINE, EMBASE, Google Scholar and TRIP were searched up to April 2009. The references of the marked studies and gray literature were also searched. Results: 17 articles were included. 9 articles reported the safety and 12 articles reported the diagnostic performance of DSCT.  Generally DSCT was a non-invasive and safe procedure.  Using DSCT the exposure of patient to X-ray was less than 64-slice single Source CT (SSCT) and more than conventional angiography. For the DSCT the mean sensitivity was 90.4%, mean specificity was 82%, mean PPV was 83% and mean NPV was 96%. For the SSCT the mean sensitivity was 90.4%, mean specificity was 82%, mean PPV was 83% and mean NPV was 96%. The mean sensitivity, specificity, PPV and NPV of DSCT were slightly higher than SSCT.Conclusion: DSCT is a noninvasive and relatively safe technology. The diagnostic performance of DSCT is higher than SSCT, but its performance is not so much high to be able to substitute the conventional invasive angiography which is still the gold standard test.

Abstract:

The ancient Persian root of the word waxs is wak- which means “to speak” and its Avestan root is vak- which means “to tell” and vaxs in Yasna 17: 44 has used as the singular female subject pronoun, but it has been used in middle Persian period as soul/spirit, and philologists have presented the latter meaning. The researcher believes that it can be defined as the talking soul, and based on Manichean texts, it should be considered as the soul in which the words of God have been planted. The word waxsur (prophet) has been used for Zarathustra in Zoroastrian Pahlavi text too. Even though this word is not found in Old Persian texts, its equivalent and associated meanings, speech and soul (The talking soul), can be found. Naser Khosrow considered speech as the food of soul and had spoken many times about the expression of the talking soul, the perfected soul, in Manichean texts. He described speech in a way that we can substitute soul for it, and they can be considered as one. Perhaps this has been derived from the word waxs.

Abstract:

The term 'hybrid' in translation studies refers to texts that are mixture of two different languages and   cultures. It applies both to translated texts, i.e. target texts where linguistic and cultural traces of the SL. are preserved, and text particularly literary works, which are a blending of the languages of the ex-colonized and ex-colonized, e.g. a poem or novel written in English by an Indian poet author in which s/he preserves her/his cultural signs. The article shows that immigration literature constitutes a body of hybrid texts written by immigrant writers. It concludes that the post-colonial writer share certain qualities with the immigrant writer: they both are hybrid and in search of new identities, in an in-between world. This gives rise to linguistically and culturally texts which belong to the in-between world, a world located between the native and the colonizer’s/host culture.

Abstract:

There is an increasing demand for low-cost single-phase DC– AC inverters in many applications such as PV systems. These systems may be used without the transformer to improve efficiency and make the whole system lighter, smaller, and easier to install. With the transformerless topology, the system efficiency may be increased by about 2%, and the related cost may be decreased by about 25%. There are large leakage currents in transformerless topologies, especially in photovoltaic systems, where safety issues and electromagnetic interference problems often occur. To overcome such disadvantages, common-ground topologies can be used as they can minimize the leakage current of the transformerless inverter ones. The transformerless semi-quasi-Z-Source inverter (SqZS) with the common-ground structure offers many advantages over conventional single-phase inverters. Leakage current elimination, higher power density, fewer components, and low-cost features make it an attractive option as a micro-inverter in photovoltaic applications. The basic topology of SqZSI is especially suitable for a PV module in low-voltage applications as a low-cost micro-inverter with high-voltage SiC switching devices. However, the unity voltage gain is one of the disadvantages of SqZS inverters, which is referred to as a drawback. In other words, the conventional structure of SqZS is not capable of stepping up the voltage, and the maximum amplitude of AC voltage that can be extracted is equal to the input DC voltage. This paper proposes a modified structure for single-phase inverters (MSqZS) to achieve voltage boost capability. The voltage boost is achieved in a single-stage conversion just by adding an additional series DC blocking capacitor to the basic inverter. It also maintains the common-ground feature. Nonlinear sinusoidal modulation (NLSPWM) is modified to allow the SqZS basic structure to achieve high voltage gain. Although the proposed inverter is modified in topology and modulation, it is not more complex than the basic SqZSI. The proposed inverter has the least number of components among the similar step-up common-ground topologies. In this paper, the closed-loop control is proposed to improve the performance of the MSqZS under variable input voltage, as well as output load and compensation for the undesired and non-ideal effect of the parasitic elements. In addition, the proposed inverter is capable of generating reactive power. Also, the design consideration for series capacitor is analysed for proper capacitor selection. The simulation and experimental results under various closed-loop and open-loop scenarios comply with the IEEE Std 1547 and verify the appropriate performance of the proposed inverter.
